Brianne Theisen - Student-Athlete of the Week

Brianne Theisen from Oregon track is this week’s
Student Athlete of the Week! Over the weekend, Theisen won her third-straight NCAA title in the Pentathalon, and helped the Ducks capture the NCAA crown in Indoor Track and Field.
Theisen got the Ducks off to an excellent start when she won with 4,536 points, just 19 off her NCAA record. The win got the Ducks 10 points, which gave the Ducks their first lead of the meet; it was a lead they would not relinquish.
With the win, Theisen became just the second three-time pentathlon champion in NCAA history, joining Arizona State's Jacquelyn Johnson (2006-08). The 2012 women's indoor track & field title was the 18th NCAA national championship in school history. Look for the Ducks to translate their success in indoor track to the outdoors, when they return to historic Hayward Field for the Oregon Preview on Sunday, March 18th, at 1:00 PM
