No. 50 Ducks Fly South; Face San Francisco, No. 19 Fresno State

EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 50 ranked University of Oregon men’s tennis team travels away from home for the first time this spring to take on the University of San Francisco and Fresno State University this weekend (Mar. 16-18).
The Ducks (11-1), off to one of the best starts in program history, will play their first outdoor matches of the season starting Friday (Mar. 16) in Pebble Beach, Calif.
Oregon is led by sophomore Robin Cambier whose energetic leadership has fueled the Ducks current three-dual winning streak. The Brussels, Belgium native was recently named the Pac-12 Player of the Week for Mar. 5-11 after his 6-0, 6-1 victory over Weber State’s Peter Ramstromer, moving Cambier’s singles record to 12-0. In doubles, Cambier has teamed with junior Jeff Mullen to compile an 11-0 record at No. 1 doubles. The Oregon tandem has already eclipsed the school record for doubles wins in a season with 20, surpassing the mark of 19 set by Mike Goldstein and John DeVorss during the 1994-95 season.
San Francisco (2-8) is coming off a home loss to Yale, 5-2, on Monday (Mar. 12). The dual with the Dons will take place in Pebble Beach, Calif. at 11 a.m. The Ducks will then travel to the campus of Fresno State to take on the No. 19 ranked Bulldogs (11-1) led by senior Remi Boutillier and sophomore Francis Alcantara. Together, the No. 22 ranked Boutillier and No. 58 ranked Alcantara are 19-1 at No. 1 and 2 singles this spring entering the dual with the Ducks.
After returning home from California, Oregon will head north to face Portland State and the University of Portland in Portland, Ore. Mar. 26 and 27, respectively. The four-match road trip marks the longest amount of time in between home duals for the Ducks all season.
