Ducks Hosts No. 9 Golden Bears

EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oregon women’s tennis team will host the No. 9 ranked University of California at Berkeley Golden Bears on Saturday (Mar. 17) at noon.
The dual will be the second Pac-12 conference match of the year and will complete a seven-match home stand for the Ducks.
The Ducks (8-2, 0-1 Pac-12) are in the midst of a five-match winning streak that started on Feb. 5 against Portland State. Oregon has defeated its opponents by a combined score of 30-5 during the five-dual streak. The Ducks have been led by junior Patricia Skowronski who has won five consecutive singles matches at No. 2 singles.
California travels to Eugene after making a stop in Seattle to face the University of Washington on Friday (Mar. 16). The matchup against the Ducks will be the finale of a four-dual Pac-12 road trip for the Golden Bears having already defeated Colorado and Utah 7-0 and 6-1, respectively. Cal (9-4, 2-0 Pac-12) combines the talents of an astounding five players ranked inside the top-100 by the ITA/Campbell rankings (No. 6 Jana Juricova , No. 17 Zsofi Susanyi, No. 54 Tayler Davis, No. 66 Anett Schutting and No. 100 Annie Goransson). Juricova is combined 8-0 in singles and doubles play recording a 3-0 record at No. 1 singles. Teaming with Susanyi, the Cal tandem comprises the No. 38 ranked doubles team in the country. Also ranked as a doubles tandem are Schutting and Goransson, the No. 27 ranked team in the nation.
After facing the Bears, the Ducks will embark on their largest road trip of season travelling through Arizona and California playing five matches in eight days. The trip will start in Arizona where Oregon will take on the Pac-12 schools, Arizona State and University of Arizona, on Mar. 23 and 24, respectively.
