Oregon vs. Arizona Post Game Quotes
Kelly Graves – UO head coach
On the game…
“Really good win. The slow start was tough, but I thought our kids hung in there in the last twelve minutes of the first half and we played about as good of defense as we possibly could.”
On Jordan Loera’s performance…
“Jordan had a great game. She is such a steady ball player. She can do a little bit of everything.”
On Jill’s performance…
“I thought Jill played a great game. She continues to improve. People look at a lot of other players and they kind of forget about Jill. I think Jill had really improved as a basketball player, skill wise, effort wise and technique wise.”
Jordan Loera—Guard
On the end of the first half…
“Our halftime talks are all about winning the game through the defensive end. I think we are starting to get that down a bit. I think it’s something we are trying to keep consitant and I think we are doing a pretty good job.”
On Arizona making tough shots early…
“I mean…We don’t like teams to score. It was an adjusment we knew we had to make. They are known for that 15-foot game, but we made the adjusment.”
On role coming off the bench…
“It feels great just to help my team out more than I have in the past and just contribute in different ways. My teammates are doing a great job just finding the open players and making those passes. I’m letting the game come to me a little more and I think that is something we are all picking up.”
Jillian Alleyne—Forward
On getting into foul trouble…
“To be honest, they are very aggressive players and I give credit to their posts. They work hard for every possession and I think a lot of the fouls were definitley mine and Megan’s fault as far as bringing our hands down. Our coaches teach us to make them shoot over us and when we bring our hands down we know it’s an automatic foul. It’s just about being sound.”
On differences from first game against Arizona…
“I think the first time we played Arizona it was definitley a battle. Back-and-fourth back-and-fourth. They were at home, so they had the homecourt advantage. They played well at home and I think the difference was that we were home and we’ve taken more pride in our game. We know we can compete at a high level, so that’s what we rolled into this game with.”
