Alleyne Named Associated Press Third Team All-America

EUGENE, Ore. - Jillian Alleyne has been named a third team All-American, the Associated Press announced on Tuesday.
Alleyne is the first Oregon player to earn first, second or third team All-America honors from the Associated Press.
Alleyne (2014), Shaquala Williams (1999, 2002), Arianne Boyer (1997) and Sally Crowe (1995) all picked up honorable mention accolades from the Associated Press previously.
Bev Smith was Oregon's first All-America selection, named a Kodak All-American in 1981 and 1982. Alleyne is the sixth player ever at Oregon to earn any kind of All-America honors.
Alleyne, a junior forward, averaged a team-high 15.2 rebounds per game and led the Pac-12 and was second in the NCAA with 15.2 rebounds per game. She started all 30 games in for the Ducks, averaging 34.7 minutes per game.
After reach 1,000 career points in her sophomore season, this year Alleyne became just the third player in UO history to reach 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds.
Alleyne broke her own Pac-12 record and tallied the third longest double-double streak in NCAA history when she reached 21 straight double-doubles, running from the end of her sophomore year through the mid-point of her junior season.
Alleyne currently ranks fifth all-time at UO with 1,637 career points and second all-time with 1,344 rebounds. She needs just 18 more boards next year as a senior to match Bev Smith's UO record of 1,362.
