UO Signs JC All-American Point Guard Megan Trinder

EUGENE, Ore. - Head coach Kelly Graves and the Oregon women's basketball program have signed junior college All-American point guard Megan Trinder as part of its 2015 recruiting class.
"I love Megan's work ethic, point guard skill set and ability to lead a team," Graves said. "She's a winner, has a very high basketball IQ and she's a perfect fit in every way for our program right now. I am thrilled Megan is a Duck."
Trinder is the fourth player to sign with the Ducks for the upcoming 2015-16 season, joining incoming freshmen Oti Gildon, Lauren Yearwood and Maite Cazorla. UO needs to replace seniors Amanda Delgado, Megan Carpenter, Katelyn Loper and Marie Berthuel.
"Playing for the Ducks is a dream come true," Trinder said. "I am excited to build Oregon into one of the nation's best programs."
Trinder played her freshman and sophomore seasons at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Neb. She will have three years to play two at Oregon.
"The energy and passion Meg brings to the game will be a great asset for Oregon," said NECC head coach Matt Svehla. "She puts in so much work and has an infectious spirit about her. She's such a great competitor and leader. The Ducks got a real keeper."
Trinder joins center Jacinta Vandenberg as Australia natives on the current Oregon roster. She is the first junior college signee for the Oregon women's basketball program since Kristi Fallin (Umpqua CC) and Candyce Flynn (Rend Lake CC) in 2009.
