Schyllander Lands Prep Standout from France
EUGENE, Ore. – Head men’s tennis coach Nils Schyllander announced on Monday that Thomas Laurent, a junior player from Montpellier, France, has signed with the Ducks and will be joining the program for the 2015-16 school year.
“We are delighted that Thomas has signed with the University of Oregon,” said Schyllander. “Thomas has a huge upside and we believe his best tennis is ahead of him. His addition to the 2015-16 edition of the Ducks will be a big factor in cementing ourselves on the national scene. Welcome to the Duck Family, Thomas!”
The son of Philippe and Marianne, Laurent will graduate from Lycée Jean Monnet High School in France later this year. The Frenchman is currently ranked in the top 10 in the France Under-18 Rankings.
Laurent will join fellow incoming freshman Ethan Young-Smith on the courts for the Ducks next year.
