Volleyball Recruiting Class Ranked No. 4

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon volleyball 2015 recruiting class was ranked No. 4 in the nation by Prepvolleyball, Thursday, the highest in UO history and the best among Pac-12 schools.
The Ducks brought in five standout prep players, each of whom were ranked 54th or better on the Prepvolleyball Senior Ace list which is also an Oregon record. It makes back-to-back top 10 classes for Oregon which accumulated the eighth-ranked class in 2014.
Outside hitter Lindsey Vander Weide out of Turlock, Calif., leads the list with a No. 13 ranking individually and will be one of many new Ducks looking to make an immediate impact. Joining Vander Weide will be middle blockers Sumeet Gill and Lauren Page who were ranked No. 31 and No. 54 on the Senior Ace list, respectively, along with outside hitter Haley McLaren (No. 40) and setter August Raskie (No. 42).
“This group is full of dynamic athletes who possess high volleyball knowledge and abundant skill sets. All five athletes touch higher than ten feet, including physical lefty setter Raskie, and all five have played at the highest junior levels with their club/high school teams…All five of these athletes are accustomed to running a fast offense from a variety of positions. This group is hungry to compete in the Green and Yellow next fall for head coach Jim Moore.” - Prepvolleyball.com
