Morris Named to All-Tournament Team

DENVER, Colo. – Oregon junior goalie Jenna Morris was named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Tournament Team as announced on Sunday after the conclusion of the MPSF Championships.
Morris denied a dozen shots in Oregon’s quarterfinals matchup against Denver on Thursday, April 30. The Phoenixville, Pa., product had seven saves in the first half for the Ducks to keep the UO within striking distance of the Pioneers. She then added five more in the second half, including a point-blank shot on a free-position opportunity for DU.
Morris wrapped up the season with 48 saves against 66 goals allowed for an 8.84 goals against average and .421 saves percentage. The junior played made 12 appearances this season, including four starts, logging 447:56 minutes of action. She also tallied 19 groundballs and three caused turnovers for the year.
The 12th-ranked Stanford Cardinal took home the MPSF crown after defeating USC 16-11 on Sunday and earned the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinal’s Kelly Myers was named the tournament most valuable player after tallying nine goals and eight draw controls.
The Ducks wrapped up their 2015 season 10-8 overall and 4-5 in conference play, good for sixth in the conference. Oregon earned its 10th MPSF Tournament berth in the program’s 11 years before falling to the No. 3-seed Denver in the quarterfinals round, 11-5.
