Postgame Quotes - Stanford Game 2
Mike White - Head Coach
On tonight's performance...
"We did a much better job I think. Obviously the power came back toward the end, especially with Nikki getting a couple home runs."
On the last two wins...
"We just find a way to get it done. Sometimes it's not real pretty, last night wasn't pretty, but we didn't make too many mistakes. You have to pick each other up."
On responding to Stanford scoring runs...
"Whatever they do, we need to answer. When we score runs, we have to shut out teams. That's what we try to do, there's little things in the game that make a big difference."
Nikki Udria, Junior - Infielder
On hitting the first home run in the new stadium...
"It's amazing. I'm honored and blessed to be able to be the first one. It was kind of a weird feeling, I didn't know whether to cry or to smile. I was really excited, and I'm glad that we got the win."
Megan Kleist, Freshman - Right Hand Pitcher
On what pitch worked for her tonight...
"I would say that my drop worked for me the best. Change-up was a little shaky, even so, all my other pitches were a little more wild than I normally am. It's something to work on during practice this week."
On giving up runs...
"I don't think I did anything differently. I do know that if I make an error pitching that my team is going to be there to pick me up, so I kind of have to do the same thing for them, reciprocate it and know that I have their back and they have mine."
On pitching at Jane Sanders Stadium...
"Oh my gosh, it's amazing pitching here. I mean, it would have been amazing pitching at Howe FIeld too. But just looking at the stadium and walking into it for the first time, I was awestruck because it's amazing. You can't really explain it in words."
