Postgame Quotes - Stanford Game 3
Mike White – Head Coach
On Jenna Lilley’s injury…
“We don’t really know any information on what’s happening or how she’s doing, I know she’s pretty swollen. But hopefully she’s good, our thoughts and prayers are with her and hopefully it’s a quick recovery.”
On opening with a sweep…
“It feels pretty good, I thought we had a bit of discipline today, we knocked the pitcher out that we only had three hits off the other day. Koral Costa had a great day with the bat and really drove some runs in.”
On 18 consecutive wins…
“I’m not even thinking about that, to tell you the truth. I’m more concerned on how we were doing, whether we’re executing and doing the little things correctly. We know that down the road there’s going to be some really tough competition.”
Cheridan Hawkins, Senior – Left Hand Pitcher
On today’s performance…
“I feel good, I’m glad we won, I’m glad our hitters did really well and put that game away; that was awesome. It’s always great to get a sweep, especially with this new stadium it’s even better.”
On responding to Lilley’s injury…
“Our coaches grabbed the opportunity to say; ‘You know, this is really unfortunate to see something like that happen.’ Especially to someone like her, it’s scary and it’s not good, but let’s win this game, let’s find a way to win for her. Use it as motivation.”
On the whole pitching staff…
“I think we did really well, we were super aggressive. We attacked the zone and we held them off so that our hitters could score. I think that was the most important thing. It’s fun to be able to do that as a staff and get all three of those wins. Only 7 hits, you can’t ask for more.”
