BEOREGON was launched at the beginning of the 2016-2017 academic year as a call to action for all Ducks to be their most authentic selves. It was inspired by the inclusive culture that has been built at the University of Oregon. NIKE’s “BETRUE” campaign, which was adopted by the LGBTQ community as the mantra for the last half-decade, provided an example for what the initiative could be. BEOREGON started as a way to celebrate diversity at University of Oregon sporting events and has now expanded to include student-athlete led events and staff led trainings.
