2004-05: Has played more collegiate tournaments and rounds of golf than any other Duck. In fact, has only missed one event her entire career. A solid "big event" player with a pair of career top 20 finishes at the conference tournament and a top 25 in her only NCAA West Regional. Best finish as a collegian came at the fall’s Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational where she tied for third (73-78-72-223) and led the team to its best finish ever at Washington (2nd-tie). Tied for ninth at the Kent Youel Invitational in Hawaii (71-75-74-220) and matched her season low with an opening round 71.
2003-04: Tied for the team lead in scoring average at 76.8. Played in all 10 events with five top-25 finishes. Placed in the top 35 in seven of 10 tournaments. After a slow start to the fall, closed the calendar year out in impressive fashion by tying for 13th at the Kent Youel Invitational in Hawaii (77-78-72-227). Carded rounds of 72 at Hawaii and at the Lady Vandal Fall Invitational. Caught fire in the spring with three top-20 finishes in five events. Tied for seventh at the Duck Invitational (77-77-76-230). Season-best tie for fourth at the Santa Clara Colby Invitational (73-75-148). Tied for 19th at the Pac-10 Championships (78-82-74-234). At the NCAA West Regional: Solid effort in her first regional led to a tie-for-25th (78-72-74-224) as she helped the Ducks force a playoff for the final bid to the NCAA Championships, which Texas eventually won. During the summer of 2003, Advanced through qualifying and match play all the way to the semifinals of the 2003 Oregon Women’s Amateur Championship, including a victory on the third extra hole in the quarterfinals.
2002-03: Oregon’s most consistent scorer with 22 rounds in the 60s or 70s. Oregon’s No. 2 golfer in terms of stroke average (77.7). Equalled the UO sophomore record with an opening round 69 at the Spartan Invitational. Tied for seventh at that event (69-75-77-221) for her highest finish of the season. Eight top 50 finishes and three top 20s on the season. Strong showing at Pac-10 tournament where she tied for 12th (75-74-77-226) at Trysting Tree in Corvallis, Ore. Finished in the top 50 in all five fall events. Tie for 10th at Oregon State included her first career even par round (72-77-74-223).
2001-02: Surprising freshman ended up as Oregon’s No. 2 golfer with a 79.2 stroke average. Four top 50 finishes in nine tournaments. Saw action in all four fall tournaments. Tied for 37th at the OSU/Shanico Invitational with a 76-79-76-231 series. Best showing of the season included a low round of 73 at the Spartan Invitational, where she tied for 34th at 229 (73-76-80). Tied for 41st at the UCLA Bruin Classic (77-78-77-232). Tied for 46th at the Ping/ASU Invitational (78-77-74-229), where she closed with her second-lowest round of the season (74).
Before Oregon: Was the 2001 Oregon state individual champion as a senior at Grants Pass High School. Grants Pass’ athlete of the year as a senior. Team won four straight district titles. District medalist as a senior. Won four letters in golf and three in basketball and volleyball.
Personal: Born Johnna Jae Nealy, August 9, 1983, in Grants Pass, Ore. Parents are Oscar and Merrily Nealy. Three sisters. Oldest sister Amanda was a golfer at New Mexico State. Majoring in journalism.
