Fall 2005: Did not play in fall as she returned from an injury.
2004-05: Ranked fifth on team in scoring average (80.1). Saw action for Ducks in all 12 events and scored in eight tournaments. Stood fourth on team in all four fall events, and two of the first three in the spring. Claimed top-40 efforts in Edean Ihlandfeldt (31st-t, 237) and Duck Invitationals (32nd-t, 236). Stood third on squad in Peg Barnard California Collegiate (41st-t, 159), and also netted top-50 placings in the Kent Youel (42nd-t, 233) and Pac-10 Championships (47th, 246). Carded a low round of 75 in the Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate and added a 76 in the next stop, the Kent Youel Invite, and then again two stops later in the Duck Invite.
2003-04: Provided the most exciting moment of the season with her six-hole playoff victory over Lindsay Snowden of UC Riverside at the Santa Clara Colby Invitational (75-71-146). The final round 71 set her career low. Oregon’s No. 5 golfer with a 78.4 season stroke average. Three top-25 finishes and a pair of top 10s. Struggled in the fall where her best showing was a tie for 40th at the Kent Youel Invitational (79-73-81-233). Came on in the spring. Tied for ninth at the Duck Invitational (74-76-81-231) before the win at Santa Clara. Tied for 25th at the Peg Barnard California Collegiate (78-78-156). At the NCAA West Regional: Solid finish to the season with scores of 79-74-77-230 to tie for 47th place. Finished third in the 2003 Washington State Amateur and second in the Pacific Northwest Golf Association summer tournaments.
2002-03: Saw action in eight of 10 tournaments. Had at least one round in the 70s in each event. Oregon’s No. 4 golfer with an 80.3 stroke average. Two top-50 finishes on the season. Best was a tie for 39th at the Oregon Duck Invitational (83-82-76-241). Low round of 74 came at the Ping/ASU Invitational (80-74-77-231) where she tied for 53rd. Played in three fall events. Tied for 42nd at Oregon State (77-81-76-234).
Before Oregon: A four-year letterwinner for coach Dave Firiono at Gig Harbor High School, where she tied for first at the district meet as a senior. Best prep 18-hole score was 67, and she once carded a hole-in-one on a par three during a tournament. Won the AAU state championship and finished third in the International Junior Golf Tour’s 2002 Southwest Junior Championships. National Honor Society member.
Personal: Born Michelle Marie Timpani, November 20, 1983, in Redlands, Calif. Parents are Mark and Karen Timpani. Three brothers, one older and two younger. Has only been playing golf since age 15. Cousin Joey Forster was an offensive lineman for the Duck football team. Major is journalism, and is interested in business and coaching golf as a career.
