Led UO in 7 Rounds and 1 Tournament
One of three talented seniors that return for the Ducks in 2010-11 who return six of last year’s top eight players from a season that featured their first NCAA trip in 10 years and a third-place Pac-10 finish. As a senior, played two events during fall campign. Also competed in two events for UO as a junior and afterwards played several Pacific Northwest amateur summer events. As a sophomore enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in which she topped her preseason best round (76) in nine of her first 17 rounds of the year, and led team for the first time in a tournament and in individual rounds for the first six times in her collegiate career. As a freshman in 2007-08, played five tourneys for one of the West Coast's top teams. As a prep, was a top-five Washington state placer as a senior and junior (fifth / fourth). One of the team's top students and is ahead of schedule on her post-college career path with a host of student government, sports business internship, and volunteer experience already on her resume.
Fall 2010: Competed in two or more fall events for the fourth straight season. Shot her two lowest scores of the fall in the first and final rounds of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown (77-NS-76), and also played in the Pac-10 / SEC Challenge against an all-star field that featured seven top-10 teams and 15 top-30 programs.
2009-10: Earned chance to play in two collegiate events, both in the fall. Stood second for UO in the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational (35th, 239), and also played the Turtle Bay Collegiate in which she shot a season-best, 2-over 74 in the first round.
2008-09: Matured into a key scorer for the Ducks and played in nine events – third-most on the team. Notched her first top-five career finish in the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational and paced squad (third overall, 226). Also led team in the first and third rounds of that event (73 / 75), then led Ducks four more times in the next nine rounds in the Stanford Intercollegiate (72 first round), Kent Youel Invitational (73 second round) and Kiawah Spring Classic (75 & 72 first and third rounds). Added another top-20 finish in the UNLV Spring Rebel Invitational (20th, 224) that included a personal best final round two-under 70 – the first under-par score of her career and tied for the team’s third-lowest total of the season. Added second top-30 finish in the Kent Youel Invitational (29th-tie, 74-73-79-226). Her best tournament score came in the UNLV Spring Rebel Invitational (224), and had three more tournaments that she was within two strokes of that score – the Stanford Intercollegiate (225), Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational (third-t, 226) and Kent Youel Invitational (29th-t, 226). Capped season with first appearance in Pac-10 Championships and stood fourth on team in final results. Altogether in the final standings of her nine events, led team once, ranked second twice, fourth in four more events, and played two more events as an individual. Made one summer appearance on amateur circuit and tied for 16th in the PNGA Public Links event at Trysting Tree Golf Course (81-75-156).
Prep: Finished fifth as an individual in 3A state tournament as a senior (79-77-156) and helped team third-place finish. Helped team to 4A state title as a junior. District champion in 2006 and ‘07. In summer of '07, advanced to round of 16 in the 106th PNGA Women's Amateur at Wentachee Golf and Country Club after win over Molly Bolyle (8 and 6). In days prior, she ranked 15th in the event's qualifying rounds (82-81-163). As a junior, won the 2006 Pacific Northwest Junior Girls tournament in August at the Mt. Si Golf Course in Snoqualmie, Wash., and took fourth in the 2006 Washington 4A State High School Championships (78-72-150) held at Hangman Valley Golf Club in Spokane, Wash. Also in the summer before her senior season, she tied for 36th in the Girls Junior Americas Cup (79-79-43-201) at Oro Valley Country Club in Tucson, Ariz., after she competed two weeks before in the Junior World tournament (75-79-81-235) at Torrey Pines in San Diego. Her collegiate low round was a 69 as a junior. In other area action, she won the 2005 Banner Bank Invitational (72-79), 2006 Moses Lake Invitational (74) and 2006 WJGA District Championship (81-73). Four-year letterwinner. Valedictorian of her class with a 4.0 GPA and National Honor Society member. High School (Coach): Eastmont ’07 (Dave Duffey).

THE OREGON DIFFERENCE: Graf on the Oregon Women's Golf Team
MG: "Growing up in Washington I had always heard of Oregon, and always thought their football uniforms were really cool, but it wasn't until I visited Eugene that I saw what Oregon is all about. I've been a Duck ever since."
Q: When you talk to others about how you love being a Duck, what are the first things you talk about?
MG: "I love the spirit at Oregon - it's very unique from other schools I've visited. Everyone in Eugene is so passionate about supporting the University and all the athletic teams, and it makes for a great environment to compete in."
Q: Besides athletics, what things initially attracted you to the University part of U of O?
MG: "Going to a strong academic institution was very important. Knowing that the Lundquist School of Business was so well-recognized nationally was a big factor. I also really loved the campus, and we have so many beautiful buildings. The students are very friendly, and it's so easy to get from one part of campus to another."
Q: What things do you remember from your Oregon recruiting trip?
MG: "I remember just being in awe of the all the facilities. We are so well taken care of at Oregon it's unbelievable. Not only do we have the loudest football stadium in the country, a first class treatment center, and great people, but soon the new Jaqua Academic Learning Center and Knight Arena will be open as well."
Q: In what ways does playing in the nation’s top conference prepare you to be your best?
MG: "It instills a great work ethic and drive to know that there is always someone chasing after you trying to be better."
Q: What are the special parts about playing in a college town like Eugene?
MG: "Since there aren't any professional sports teams in Oregon besides the Portland Trailblazers, the two universities get a lot of great coverage, and we have an amazing fan base in Eugene. It's always fun to wear your Oregon gear around town and have people ask if you're an athlete. You know the entire city is behind you, and they love being Oregon fans.”
Q: Talk about the team’s chemistry, and what sets it apart from other programs?
MG: "We have a great group and we all get along really well. We have a lot of fun on trips and in practice, and it's great to see the close relationships we have continue on after graduation.”
Q: Describe Coach Quiazon’s mission statement or general philosophy to being successful, both as a team and as an individual.
MG: "It's pretty simple, short game, short game, short game."
Q: When you work with her, what elements of her coaching style do you appreciate the most?
MG: "She's very knowledgeable on technique and fundamentals, and I'm looking forward to working with her more this spring."
Q: Oregon’s state-of-the art facilities are a big thing in the recruiting process – what were your impressions of various ones?
MG: "The treatment center is unlike any other I've seen. It is so modern and innovative, but also very functional. You really feel like you're at a spa.”
Q: Are there other unique elements in the University of Oregon athletic department that you didn’t find anywhere else?
MG: "Most universities have a Student Athlete Advisory Committee, but the Oregon SAAC is very unique in the fact that we have established a non-profit organization, O Heroes, that is run solely by the student athletes. We also have a great Student-Athlete Development staff, Katie (Harbert) and James (Harris) have contributed some much to the athletic department, and have great relationships with all the student athletes.”
Q: What’s your major, and what led you to pick it?
MG: "I'm an applied mathematics and business administration (sports business concentration) double major. I've always enjoyed math, and have grown up in a very business savvy environment, so the combination was a very natural fit."
Q: What extra academic resources do you take advantage of, and how do they help you be your best in the classroom?
MG: "Being a math major, the math lab has been a huge help. David, director of the Math Lab, is so knowledgeable and helpful. There are always people there and it's great to be able to offer help to other athletes as well. There are also tutors available for classes you may be struggling with, and our advisors are always there to offer advice.”
Q: Eugene offers so many close-by options to practice nearby – talk about what each course offers to help you with particular parts of your game.
MG: "Our facility at Emerald Valley is great for any type of practice. We have a private area to work on our full swings, a pitching area where you can hit from 85 yards and in into a green, and a huge putting/chipping green, complete with bunkers, that allows both the men's and women's teams to practice at the same time. Emerald Valley is also the most difficult course we play. It has a very challenging layout and is a tough course to score on. Eugene Country Club is always a treat to play, especially since they have hosted numerous USGA championships. The superintendent and his staff take impeccable care of the golf course, its traditional layout is great to play before to traveling to other similar courses across the nation. Shadow Hills is another great course. Their practice area is always in great shape, and they have some of the fastest greens around."
Q: Do you have a special pride to wearing the ‘O’, and why?
MG: "It's special to be able to represent such a great university and athletic department with such an amazing tradition. It's especially fun to be at Oregon right now with all the great things going on, and the success that we are enjoying. I can't imagine being anywhere else!”
