Assistant coach Brooke Dieringer is beginning her first season with the University of Oregon lacrosse program.
A native of Davidsonville, Md., Dieringer spent her senior season in 2007 as a member of the Oregon lacrosse program, scoring a team-leading 32 goals, and earning all-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation honors, while also being named to the IWLCA All-Region second team.
Following her final year of eligibility, Dieringer was brought on board by head coach Jen Larsen in July of 2007 to assume the assistant coaching position.
Dieringer is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership at UO, after receiving her Bachelor of Arts from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina in 2006. During her four years at Chapel Hill, Dieringer was a three-year starter, playing during the 2003, ?04, and ?06 seasons before her graduation. She redshirted in 2005 after tearing her left anterior cruciate ligament, thus allowing her one year of eligibility as a graduate student at Oregon in 2007.
During her time with the Tar Heels, Dieringer helped guide UNC to the ACC regular season championship, while also receiving all-tournament honors at the postseason conference tourney in 2006. She tied for the team lead with 29 goals that year, totaling 35 points, and leading the team with .480 shooting percentage.
