- Assistant Coach
Kelsea Wells (Carlson) joined the Oregon acrobatics and tumbling coaching staff as an assistant coach in August 2015 after competing for the Ducks from 2010-2013.
During her first season as assistant coach, Wells helped coach Oregon to an 11-3 overall record and a sixth straight appearance in the NCATA Finals, where the Ducks would eventually finish as runners-up to top-ranked Baylor.
Under her watch, Oregon’s Taylor Galvin and Nicole Seybold earned NCATA All-American honors in 2016, while the Ducks took home the individual event title in the heat one toss and Taylor Galvin was crowned national champion in the 6-element tumbling.
Wells built an impressive resumé during her time as an athlete at Oregon, competing on three national championship teams. The Oregon City, Ore., native was a member of the squad that won the program’s inaugural national championship in 2011.
In her four years at Oregon, Wells achieved a number of individual event national championships as well. In 2011, she won national titles in the six and seven-element acro events. She won national titles in the heat one pyramid and heat three toss in 2013.
Before coming to Oregon, Wells attended Oregon City High School where she was a two-sport athlete competing in cheer and tennis.
Wells graduated from Oregon in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in human psychology. She and her husband, Chad, have one daughter, Rylinn, and reside in Eugene.
