Monica Poveda

Monica Poveda begins her third season as an assistant coach with the Ducks. Prior to Oregon, Poveda spent time playing professionally and coaching after she graduated from the University of Tulsa. Poveda participated on the Bolivian Federation Cup squad for eight years, including one with senior Monica Hoz de Vila. She also coached junior and senior players at the Santa Cruz Tennis Club in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. As a pro, Poveda reached a WTA singles ranking of 805, while ranked 450 in doubles. At Tulsa, Poveda played No. 1 singles for the Golden Hurricane, earning Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors in 2000. In 2001, Poveda earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Magna Cum Laude honors.
