- Email:
Caitlin Prince wrapped up her second season in charge of the Oregon attack and first as associate head coach for the Ducks after arriving in the summer of 2021.
In year two with Oregon, Prince helped the Ducks replace 113 goals from last year’s team, with an emphasis on versatility. Under Prince’s tutelage, Morgan McCarthy and Gabby Cleveland each earned second team All-Pac-12 honors with marked improvement. McCarthy led the Ducks in goals (37) and points (40). Cleveland finished second on the team in goals with 32 after recording seven as a true freshman. Sophomore Haley Taylor became the first Oregon player since 2020 to bring home Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week honors following a win against Kennesaw State. The Ducks had nine games in 2023 with at least seven goal scorers, including six with eight-plus. Oregon had 10 different players find the net in a win at George Mason this season, the first game with double-digit goal scorers since April 1, 2016, at California. The Ducks also finished with the most assists in a season since 2018 led by sophomore Lauren Rismani’s 23, the most by an Oregon player since 2019.
In her first season in Eugene, Prince engineered marked growth in Oregon’s attack. The Ducks’ offense improved by nearly two goals per game while also dishing out one more assist per game than they did in 2021. Oregon featured seven double-digit goal scorers for the first time since 2017. Two players (Shonly Wallace and Hanna Hilcoff) scored 40+ goals for the first time since 2018.
Prince – who spent the previous three seasons as an assistant at the University of Cincinnati – joined Hoffmann’s staff as the team’s offensive coordinator.
Before joining the staff in Eugene, Prince helped lead Cincinnati to a 12-7 overall record in her first year in 2019, including a win over Temple to open the AAC Tournament. Overall, Cincinnati owned a 22-21 record in the three seasons with Prince on staff.
Prior to going to Cincinnati, Prince spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons as an assistant coach at Duquesne, her alma mater. She started her coaching career as a development assistant at Robert Morris in 2015 and 2016 after earning degrees in sociology and communications from Duquesne in 2014.
Prince was a four-year standout at Duquesne from 2011-14, leaving as the program’s No. 3 all-time scorer with 162 career goals. She scored a single-season record 62 goals as a sophomore in 2012, earning IWLCA all-West/Midwest Region second-team honors. She was an all-Atlantic-10 Conference first-team selection in both 2012 and 2014.
