Katie Schoene, who played for Tara Erickson at Portland State, begins her first season as a volunteer coach for the Ducks.
The Seattle, Wash., native was a four-year letterwinner for Portland State and a three-time academic all-Big Sky selection.
She was an all-conference honorable mention selection as a senior in 2006 after playing 18 games at midfield with one assist. She was also the team captain.
For her PSU career, Schoene appeared in 62 games with one goal and one assist.
Schoene graduated from Portland State in 2007 with a degree in communication studies.
