Damian Williams is in his first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Oregon softball team.
Williams spent the previous 16 seasons as the head coach at Willamette University before taking a leave of absence to work with the Ducks this year.
At Willamette, Williams posted a 320-265 overall record, including a 237-171 mark in Northwest Conference play. He led the Bearcats to six straight 20-win seasons from 2005-10 and went 21-15 in 2012.
His 2000 team led the nation with a 0.76 team ERA and was ranked as high as No. 5 in the West region.
Before taking over at Willamette, Williams was the head coach at Shoreline Community College in Seattle for four season (1995-98).
Williams graduated from Seattle Pacific in 1995 and earned his master's degree from Concordia in 2013.
Williams and his wife Genesis have a son, Everson.
