Quotes: Head coach Kat Mertz -
On the close loss…
"Yeah this one hurts. I felt we had a really good chance going into it to get a point, if not three. I thought we stuck to our game plan really well though."
On getting through the tough three game stretch to start conference play…
"Every game in the Pac-12 is a championship game. We grew a lot as a team so far and have gained a lot of experience together. Some of our more inexperienced players such as Alyssa Hinojosa and Michelle Rockey were able to really grow in these last three games and we're proud of that."
Abby Morrow, Junior, Midfielder
On scoring her third goal of the season…
"I didn't really expect to score this many goals, especially as a midfielder, but I just feel like my duties are box-to-box and when I'm in the box, I'll try to score."
Kyra Fawcett, Sophomore, Forward
On fighting tough against the 11th ranked team in the country…
"Our team has a lot of fight. Today, we came out with a lot of fight, especially wearing these pink jerseys for something that is bigger than us. That kind of hit home for a lot of us. We made sure we fought with dignity and pride with these jerseys and for everyone out there who is fighting cancer."
Looking Ahead: On Thursday, Oct. 6, the Ducks will face the Colorado Buffaloes on the road in Boulder, Colo. First touch is set for 2:30 p.m.
