EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon athletics will replace the temporary bleachers in the outfield at Jane Sanders Stadium with a permanent structure for the 2018 season.
Bob Sanders, who previously donated $16 million to build Jane Sanders Stadium, made an additional gift to complete the bleachers.
"Mr. Sanders' incredible generosity with this project will allow us to complete Jane Sanders Stadium and improve an already incredible facility," said Lisa Peterson, Oregon Deputy Athletics Director/SWA.
The stadium will continue to have a capacity of 2,500 with the new permanent bleachers plus the existing seats and standing-room-only areas.
Construction will begin this fall and will feature new bathrooms and a new concession stand. The bleachers will be ready for the first home games of the 2018 season.
