EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon softball team has been ranked No. 3 in both the NFCA and USA Softball preseason top-25 polls, the organizations announced Tuesday.
The Ducks, who advanced to the semifinals of the Women's College World Series last season, start the 2018 season on Feb. 8 at the Kajikawa Classic.
Oregon has 24 games against top-25 teams on the 2018 schedule, including the season-opener against No. 25 ranked Georgia.
In addition to Georgia, the Ducks will face No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 6 Texas A&M, No. 8 LSU, No. 9 Florida State (twice), No. 12 Tennessee, No. 14 Ole Miss and No. 24 Oklahoma State in non-conference play. The reigning national champion Sooners visit Jane Sanders Stadium for a midweek game on April 18 while the other seven games will be on the road in non-conference tournaments.
The Pac-12 features four teams in the top-10, with No. 4 Washington, No. 5 UCLA and No. 7 Arizona joining the No. 3 ranked Ducks. No. 15 Utah and No. 23 Arizona State are also in the preseason poll.
