McIntosh, Wooten Cap Quarterfinal Comeback

Ducks advance to the Pac-12 Semifinals for the fourth straight year.
LAS VEGAS — For the second straight night, MiKyle McIntosh and Kenny Wooten kept Oregon's NCAA Tournament hopes alive with their late-game heroics.
Thursday in the Pac-12 quarterfinals versus Utah at T-Mobile Arena, McIntosh converted a three-point play with 1:02 remaining to give Oregon a two-point lead, and then Wooten blocked Utah's last attempt to tie the game at the buzzer, just like he did against Washington State on Wednesday.
The 68-66 win means that Oregon (22-11) advances to face USC in the semifinals Friday night.
How It Happened: Utah (19-11) gradually pulled away from the Ducks over the first 10 minutes of the second half, taking its biggest lead at 54-43 on David Collette's layup with 9:57 to play.
After an Oregon time out, Elijah Brown sparked a 19-6 run with three three-pointers that cut Utah's lead to 62-60 with 3:10 left.
Then McIntosh took over, scoring seven of Oregon's final eight points on a layin and five free throws, as the Ducks consistently looked inside for points. McIntosh fouled out both Collette, who had 16 points for the Utes, and Tyler Rawson in those final three minutes to erase Utah's starting big men from the game.
The Ducks scored the first five points of the game, but from there the opening half was a struggle. A night after scoring a season-low 17 in the first half against Washington State, the Ducks managed just 25 against the Utes. The Ducks hit just 29.6 percent from the field (8-of-27) in the opening frame.
Once again, it was the Ducks' defense that kept the game within reach over the first 20 minutes. Utah made just one more field goal than the Ducks, nine, as Oregon outrebounded the Utes 18-15, including seven offensive boards. Much of that could be attributed to the efforts of the "speed squad" of Keith Smith, Victor Bailey Jr. and Abu Kigab, who all saw extended minutes in the first half with three starters limited due to foul trouble.
Who Stood Out: Brown tied his career high with seven three-pointers for all 21 of his points. McIntosh added 18 points with six rebounds. Wooten led the Ducks with eight rebounds on a night Oregon outrebounded Utah 34-25. Paul White, who missed the earlier meeting with Utah due to a concussion, scored eight points and more importantly made all six of his free-throw attempts
