Svekis, Elish Earn Pac-12 Weekly Awards

EUGENE, Ore. - After helping the Ducks to a three-game sweep of No. 9 Arizona, plus a pair of wins over Portland State, Gwen Svekis and Miranda Elish have been named the Pac-12 player and pitcher of the week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Gwen Svekis, SR, C, Oregon (Davie Fla.)
5 GP, 5 runs, 7 hits, 7 RBI, .700 avg, 1.600 SLG%
• Combined to hit .700 over five wins this week with seven RBIs, five extra base hits and five runs scored.
• Shined in the three-game sweep against then-No. 9/8 Arizona, hitting .750 (6-for-8), including a pair of homers in the Ducks' opening-series 5-2 win.
• 2-for-3 in the second (8-0) and third (10-0) games of the series, knocking out a combined three doubles overall and at least one RBI in each game.
• Flawless defensively, with no errors and an out made at the plate.
• Hitting .337 this year and leads the team with both 11 homers and 38 RBIs.
• Second-career weekly honor and the 70th all-time for Oregon.

• Threw the first seven-inning perfect game in UO softball history with a career-high 16 strikeouts against Portland State on Tuesday, also adding a pinch-hit triple.
• Allowed just three hits in a six-inning shutout of then-No. 9 Arizona with 13 strikeouts
• Owns a 13-1 record this season with a 0.78 ERA and 136 strikeouts compared to just 17 walks in 89.2 innings pitched.
• Tossed a complete game in 12-of-13 starts this year with nine shutouts.
• Second-career honor and 71st all-time for Oregon.
