Two Oregon players received All-Pac-12 honors Thursday as Norman Xiong was named to the first team while Ryan Gronlund earned second-team recognition.
Xiong is in the midst of a remarkable season, as he has set a school record for wins in a season with five, and has a program-record six career wins. The sophomore won three consecutive tournaments beginning with a win at the Duck Invitational before claiming medalist honors at The Goodwin and Western Intercollegiate.
The Canyon Lake, Calif. native began his season with a pair of victories in the fall at the Rod Myers Invitational and Nike Collegiate Invitational. Xiong has a scoring average of 68.90 through 11 tournaments and has shot in the 60s in 19 of his 31 rounds.
Gronlund has finished in the top 10 five times this season and eight times in his career and is second on the team with a 71.35 stroke average. The redshirt junior has shot par or better in 18 of his 31 rounds and has nine rounds in the 60s.
This is the second time in his career that Xiong has been selected first-team All-Pac-12 after being named the conference's freshman of the year last year. Gronlund is also on the all-conference team for the second consecutive year after earning second-team recognition last year.
