Softball Coaching Staff Earns NFCA Honors

EUGENE, Ore. - Head coach Mike White and his assistants have been named the NFCA Div. I Pacific Region Coaching Staff of the Year, the coaches organization announced.
White, plus assistant Chelsea Spencer, assistant Jimmy Kolaitis, volunteer assistant Kailee Cuico and director of operations Jessica Kirby, earned region staff of the year honors for the fifth time in six seasons. White and his staff were also recognized in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and now 2018.
White and the Ducks won their fifth Pac-12 title this season, secured the NCAA tournament's No. 1 overall seed with the No. 1 regular season RPI and made the program's sixth trip to the Women's College World Series. Five of those trips have come in White's tenure.
The Ducks matched a program record with four NFCA All-Americans in 2018. RHP Megan Kleist and C Gwen Svekis were each named first team All-Americans while RHP Miranda Elish was a second team pick and 3B Jenna Lilley was a third team selections. Svekis was also named the NFCA national catcher of the year while Kleist was the Pac-12 pitcher of the year.
Oregon went 53-10 overall and posted a 21-3 record in Pac-12 play. After falling to eventual champions Florida State in the WCWS, the Ducks were ranked No. 6 in the final NFCA top-25 poll.
