The top-ranked Ducks saw Ruthy Hebard and Lydia Giomi dominate down low on Monday in an 89-47 season-opening victory over Northeastern, helping Oregon overcome insonsistent outside shooting. Hebard led the way with team-highs of 21 points and 12 rebounds for her 40th career double-double, and Giomi enjoyed a breakout game with a career-high 18 points while adding nine rebounds. Minyon Moore impressed in her first regular season game as a Duck with a team-high 10 assists to go with nine points and six rebounds, and Sabrina Ionescu added 12 points, eight assists and six boards.

Playing in front of 11,530 fans in Matthew Knight Arena, No. 1 Oregon became the first college team since 1999 and only the second in history to defeat the USA WNT, 93-86. The Ducks - who trailed by 11 midway through the second quarter - were led by a dynamic 30-point performance from reigning national player of the year Sabrina Ionescu, including 20 in a brilliant third quarter. Satou Sabally poured in 25 points, headlined by eight points in an 11-0 UO run in the fourth, and senior Ruthy Hebard notched a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
