Nuneviller Named to All-America Second Team

EUGENE, Ore. – For a second-consecutive season, University of Oregon outside hitter Brooke Nuneviller has earned a spot on the AVCA All-America Second Team. Additionally, libero Georgia Murphy secured Honorable Mention accolades in Wednesday's release by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

Nuneviller becomes the sixth player in program history to earn two All-America Team selections, and the first to do so since Lindsey Vander Weide.

Nuneviller, the 2021 AVCA Pacific North Region Player of the Year, averaged a career-high 3.96 kills per set and posted double-digit kills in 23 of 29 matches started. She had at least 15 kills in 13 outings with six matches of 20 or more kills. In a four-set win at Rice, Nuneviller put down a season-high 31 kills to go along with 21 digs—her first of three matches with 20 or more digs.

The Chandler, Ariz., native registered 17 double-doubles during the fall campaign. She reached double-digit digs in 19 matches and finished the season with 3.19 digs per set.

This past season, Nuneviller reached 1,000 career kills (1,025 current total), 1,600 career digs (1,649) and 100 service aces (101).

Murphy enjoyed a career year as the UO libero with 4.29 digs per set—fourth in the Pac-12—and 34 service aces. She also ranked among the top 10 in the league with 0.32 aces per set. Behind Murphy's efforts, Oregon led the Pac-12 in opponent hitting percentage (.181) and digs per set (15.52 d/s). She recorded a season-high 27 digs in a four-set win at Colorado.

With her 10th dig against USC (Nov. 12), Murphy became the 15th player in program history to reach 1,000 career digs.
