Former Oregon point guard Nia Jackson has returned to her alma mater to join head coach Kelly Graves' staff for the 2018-19 season.
Jackson will serve as the team's director of creativity. The role includes video coordinator duties plus camp staging and promotion among other responsibilities.
"I'm really happy we could bring Nia back to Eugene," Graves said. "She has a tremendous amount of experience and will be a great mentor to our players. Nia was a fantastic player here and I'm excited to have her back in the program."
Jackson has spent the last four seasons on staff at Loyola Marymount, starting as the director of operations before earning a promotion to assistant coach for the 2017-18 season.
Jackson played for the Ducks from 2007-08 to 2011-12, redshirting her second season due to injury. The Seattle native was a first team all-Pac-12 pick after her junior year in 2010-11.
Jackson led Oregon in assists for three straight seasons, with a career-best 119 as a junior. Jackson reached 1,007 points in her Oregon career while playing in 114 games. The speedy guard still ranks in the program's top-10 in career assists (355) and steals (204).
Jackson was named the team's most valuable player in 2011 and 2012, the team's top defensive player in 2010 and 2011 and the best offensive player in 2011.
Jackson played one season professionally in Finland before retiring from the game due to knee injuries in 2013.
