Women's Hoops Rout Cougars, 88-47

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Shaquala Williams scored 24 points and collected seven rebounds as the visiting Oregon Ducks rolled to an 88-47 victory over the Washington State Cougars in Pacific-10 Conference women's basketball action, Thursday night at Friel Court.
With the win the Ducks improved to 15-11 overall and 10-7 in the Pac-10. The Cougars fell to 2-25 and 0-17 in conference play.
Williams shot a perfect 9-of-9 from the field leading Oregon to a season-high 55.9 percent (33-of-59) shooting performance. Two Oregon players joined Williams in double figures. Jamie Craighead scored 13 points and Kedzie Gunderson added a career-high 12 points for the Ducks.
Whitney Martindale led the Cougars with 13 points as she connected on three three-point baskets. It was Martindale's 10th game this year that she reached double-digits in points.
After taking an early 12-6 lead with 13:58 left in the first half, the Ducks went on a 22-8 run to take a 34-14 lead at the 7:58 mark.
Oregon extended its lead to 49-23 at the halftime intermission.
Williams opened the second half by scoring nine straight points in the first 2:21 as the Ducks took a 58-23 lead with 17:39 remaining.
The Ducks shot 62 percent (18-of-29) in the first half, while the Cougars connected on 8-of-31 (26 percent) field goals. Oregon connected on seven three-point baskets in the first half, compared to one for Washington State.
