LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Ian Crosswhite scored a 22 points and James Davis had 21, all on three-point shots, to lead Oregon to a 92-74 victory over USC on Friday night in a Pacific-10 Conference opener for both teams at the Sports Arena.
Davis made seven of 10 3-pointers, tying a career high and falling one short of the school's single-game record. What made Davis' performance more amazing is the fact he didn't hit his first bucket until 3:40 remained in the first half. As a team, Oregon made 14-of-23 three-pointers, marking the fifth time in eight games that the Ducks have hit at least 11 threes.
Crosswhite added a career-best 13 rebounds, Luke Jackson scored 14 points and Aaron Brooks tied a career high with 13 points - 10 in the first half -- for the Ducks (6-2, 1-0).
Desmon Farmer led the Trojans (5-5, 0-1) with 15 points. Jeff McMillan added 14 points and nine rebounds.
Davis and Crosswhite, who both tied career highs in points, combined on an 11-0 run to give Oregon a 49-33 halftime lead, and the Ducks never trailed during the second half.
Jackson had six assists Friday and passed Terrell Brandon for fifth on Oregon's career assists list. Jackson now has 316 assists, Brandon, who played from 1989-91 had 315.
Oregon forward Mitch Platt returned to action for the first time since Dec. 6, when he sprained his left ankle against Marshall. Platt had started the season's first three games.
The Ducks have won nine of their last 10 conference openers
