
Ducks Lose to UMBC, 14-11

BALTIMORE ? The East Coast hasn't been kind to the Oregon women's lacrosse team this week. The Ducks lost their third straight Friday, a 14-11 decision to Maryland-Baltimore County before 300 fans at UMBC Soccer Stadium.
Oregon dropped to 2-8 on the season while UMBC picked up its first win to move to 1-4.
Oregon's Jana Bradley (Encinitas, Calif.) led all scorers with four goals and one assist while Jen May (Davidsonville, Md.) added three goals.
Louisa Dorsch started for Oregon, allowing nine goals and recording eight saves in the first half. Freshman Allison O'Brien played the entire second half and gave up five goals to go with four saves.
For the game, UMBC outshot Oregon 39-25.
Ali Levendusky put UMBC ahead for good at 2-1 at the 5:38 mark of the first half. UMBC built a 4-1 lead, but the Ducks would not go away as Bradley scored two goals about one minute apart and Kate Fleming cut UMBC's lead to 9-7 ? the score at the half ? with a goal on a pass from Lindsay Pittard with two minutes left.
Kate Worthington (four goals), who scored UMBCs ninth goal with 3:31 remaining in the first half, scored UMBCs first three goals of the second half, each time giving the Retrievers a three-goal cushion.
Oregon returns to Eugene for several days before heading back to the East Coast next week as it will take on North Carolina next Friday and Davidson the followind day.
