EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -Freshman Tajuan Porter had a game-high 27 points and the Ducks went on to beat Lehigh 77-65 Friday night in the Basketball Travelers Classic.
Oregon jumped out to an early 8-0 lead in the first 1:48 after two consecutive three-pointers by guard Chamberlain Oguchi.
Porter's 27 points was tied for the third-most ever by an Oregon freshman and four shy of Ron Lee's school record 31 set against UCLA in 1973.
The Ducks took a 32-26 lead into the locker room before Oregon went on a 12-point run capped by two more Oguchi three-pointers early in the second half.
The Mountain Hawks were led by guard Jose Oliveros' 17 points. Jason Mgebroff added 16 points and brought down eight rebounds.
Oguchi added 16 points for the Ducks while forward Maarty Leunen scored 10 points and grabbed 12 boards.
Oregon's Malik Hairston sat out the game because of a groin injury and guard Aaron Brooks sat out the season opener. He was suspended for the game because of flagrant foul dating back from last year's Pac-10 tournament game against Washington.
The Ducks went 15-18 last season, while Lehigh went 19-12.
