Ducks Match Best Start in Decade, Beat Nebraska 68-56

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -Bryce Taylor hit a 3-pointer with 39.8 seconds to go, and Oregon remained undefeated with a 68-56 victory over Nebraska Saturday in the Pape Jam at the Rose Garden Arena.
Taylor finished with 18 points for the Ducks, who are 7-0 for their best start since 1996-97 when they started 10-0.
Ryan Anderson had 15 points for Nebraska (5-2). The loss ended a six-game Husker winning streak in the series against Oregon.
Three straight dunks - two by Malik Hairston and one from Taylor - gave the Ducks a 39-29 lead early in the second half, their biggest margin of the game to that point.
Paul Velander's consecutive 3-pointers for Nebraska and another from Anderson closed the gap to 39-38, but the Huskers were unable to pull ahead.
Maarty Leunen's 3-pointer gave the Ducks a 53-42 lead.
Nebraska closed to within 59-56 on Marcus Perry's 3-pointer with 2:11 to go. But Aaron Brooks hit on a layup before Taylor's key 3-pointer in the final minute to make it 64-56.
The Ducks were coming off a 57-50 victory on Nov. 29 over then-No. 18 Georgetown. It was the first time the Ducks had defeated a ranked opponent on the road.
The Huskers were coming off a 75-73 loss last weekend to Rutgers, their first loss of the season.
Nebraska led early but a 10-3 Oregon run capped by Leunen's 3-pointer put the Ducks up 21-15.
Nebraska tied it at 21 on Velander's 3-pointer, but the Huskers were unable to pull in front. Freshman guard Tajuan Porter hit a key 3-pointer to make it 28-21 for the Ducks, who led 31-27 at the half.
It was the 10th meeting between Oregon and Nebraska. The Huskers lead the series 6-4.
