Ducks remain in 19th place in Hawaii

Waikoloa, Hawaii. ? Sophomore Derek Sipe sits in 43rd place after shooting a 4-over par to pace the Ducks, who again battled inconsistency and remained tied for 19th place after the second round of the UH Hilo Invitational, played Thursday at the Waikoloa Club Golf Course in Waikoloa, Hawaii.

Fellow sophomore Joey Benedetti, Junior Matt Ma, and Senior Gregg Lavoie all carded rounds of 6-over, 77 for the Ducks. Only four players in the entire field of 150 scored in the 60's during the second round. Benedetti sat in tied for 60th place, Ma tied for 71st, and LaVoie tied for 94th.

Also tied for 94th place sits Senior Justin St. Clair, who struggled to a 9-over round of 80 in the second round.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets pulled away from the rest of the field on Friday, with all five golfers currently sitting in the top ten. As a team, Georgia Tech currently sits at 21-under par, good enough for a 17 stroke lead over second place Oklahoma State.

The Yellow Jackets were paced by Freshman Cameron Tringale, who leads the individual race by two strokes over first day leader Pablo Martin of Oklahoma State.
