Ducks Sit in Second After Day Two at Bandon

BANDON, Ore. – The Oregon men's golf team sits ten strokes out of first place after the second day of play at the Bandon Dunes Championship.
The Ducks shot a 16-under 268 for the opening round at Pacific Dunes on Sunday, equalling the seventh-lowest round to par in program history. The home-state teams are well ahead of the rest of the field, 11 stokes ahead of SIU Edwardsville and Seattle who share third place.
Ramil Saelim leads the Oregon lineup after carding an eagle to cap a 2-under score in the second round and is tied for third on the individual leaderboard. Competing as an individual, freshman Oscar Lent climbed six spots in the rankings and shares possession with Saelim, six strokes under par for the tournament.
How It Happened
After the Ducks opened the tournament with the seventh-lowest round to par in program history, the reigning tournament champions were able to maintain their second place standing during day two.
Ramil Saelim topped the Oregon lineup and enters the final round as one of four Ducks in the top-10. The sophomore teed off on hole No. 15 and carded three birdies and three bogeys for an even 15 holes. With three left to play, Saelim notched an eagle on No. 12 to finish 2-under on the day and is 6-under for the tournament.
Aiden Krafft finished with four birdies but came out even on the day, but remains at No. 5 on the leaderboard after yesterday's round of 66. Jeffrey Kwak is a stroke behind him in eighth place, shooting one over with two birdies and three bogeys in the second round.
Casper Nerpin rounded out Oregon's counting scores with a 3-over round. Sebastian Desoisa finished with a 75.
Freshman Oscar Lent remains the top placeholder of Oregon's individual players and matched Saelim's 6-under tournament score with two rounds of 68. Lent carded five birdies and just two bogeys and is on track to post the lowest score of his season since winning the Tindall Individual Tournament with a 9-under 207 in his collegiate debut.
Kyreece Romero and Teddy Vigna both improved upon yesterday's scores, with Romero finishing as the third Duck under par during day two. Romero's six birdies were the most by an Oregon player in the round. Vigna finished just a stroke above par, but three strokes better than his Sunday showing. Tim Chang went 5-over 76.
