
Dons Down Ducks

EUGENE, -- The University of Oregon men's tennis team couldn't get out of the loss column against the University of San Francisco, Monday as the Dons edged the Ducks, 4-3.
The Ducks played solid in all three doubles matches, all of which were close affairs, but were only able to win one of them.
Gustavo Loza and Fernando Freitas played strong at number two and defeated Mitch Del Rosario and Fernando Rodriguez, 8-6.
In singles play Markus Schiller, Eric Pickard and Vladimir Pino collected wins for the Ducks.
Schiller playing Berry got off to a solid start winning the first set, 6-3. He then edged Berry to take the second set and the match, 7-6.
Pickard playing up a spot from his usual sixth position drew Thong Tu and won a grueling three-set match. Pickard lost the first set, 7-6, but rallied to take the next two sets by identical 6-4, tallies.
Pino was able to get by Rafael Corazza in straight sets winning, 6-4, 6-1.
The Ducks return to action, Friday when they face Stanford beginning at 1:30 in Stanford, Calif.
