
Bears Thump Oregon Men

BERKELEY, Calif. ? The University of Oregon men's tennis team was unable to win a match against No. 30 California as the Golden Bears downed Oregon winning, 7-0, Saturday in Berkeley.
Oregon was close in the top two doubles matches as Markus Schiller and Gustavo Loza fell, 8-6 to Conor Niland and Tyler Browne, at number one. At number two, Fernando Freitas and Eric Pickard lost, 8-5, to Lennart Maack and Dean Wallace.
At number three the California pairing of Daniel Sebescen and John Pettit def. Vlad Pino and Hugh McDonald, 8-1.
The Bears won all six singles matches in straight sets, completing the shutout of the Ducks.
Oregon returns to action, Friday when they face Arizona in Tucson, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
