Duck Golfers 10th at Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. ? Joey Benedetti shot rounds of 74-71 and was tied for 12th at 5-over 145 to lead Oregon at the U.S. Intercollegiate.
Benedetti, a sophomore from Huntington Beach, Calif., tied for eighth at last week's Thunderbird Invitational.
The Ducks shot a solid 294 in the morning round, but faltered to a 306 Saturday afternoon and were 10th heading into Sunday's final round. Oregon also counted rounds of 69-77 from Derek Sipe, The sophomore from Yorba Linda, Calif., was tied for 15th at 146.
No. 5 UCLA led the tournament at 578, followed by USC at 579, host Stanford at 580, Washington at 583 and San Jose State at 592. Oregon State and No. 17 San Diego State led the next group at 594 UC Irvine (595), Northern Colorado (599) and Oregon (600) rounding out the top 10.
Rob Grube of Stanford shot a 6-under 64 Saturday afternoon to take command of medalist race. He was at 5-under 135 for the tournament, six strokes better than Erik Flores of UCLA, Taylor Wood of USC and Garrett Sapp of UC Irvine, who were all at 141.
