Bristow Takes Second in in USF Invitational

RICHMOND, Calif. ? The No. 45-ranked University of Oregon women's golf team capped action Tuesday in fourth place after the third and final round of the University of San Francisco's USF Richmond Country Club Invitational.
The Ducks shot a 303 final round on the par 71, 5,955-yard Richmond Country Club course, and finished 11 strokes behind the winner, UC Davis (first, 308-299-300-907).
No. 38 Texas Tech followed in second place (305-301-302-908), ahead of UNLV (third, 311-296-304-911), Oregon (308-307-303-918).
Other teams in the field included San Francisco (fifth, 311-307-304-922), UC Irvine (sixth, 317-301-306-924), Boise State (seventh, 311-303-313-927), Campbell (eighth, 307-314-312-933) and Toledo (ninth, 324-314-320-958).
In the individual standings, UO junior Cathryn Bristow shot a 72 final round ? the third-lowest score of the day ? to finish second overall (75-72-72-219), and only four strokes behind the winner Therese Kolbaeck of UNLV (75-71-69-215).
Freshman Kendra Little also finished top 15 overall in her fifth collegiate tournament (13th-t, 76-74-78-228).
Other Duck scorers included sophomore Kate Hildahl (24th-tie, 76-81-76-233) and junior Blair Ressler (33rd, 82-80-77-239). UO's other team entry was freshman Erica Omlid (40th-tie, 81-84-79-244), and two other Ducks saw action as individuals ? freshmen Tiffany Schoning (35th-tie, 78-83-81-242) and Monika Graf (44th-tie, 82-84-80-246).

The Duck women wrapped up their fall season Tuesday with their third top-five tourney team finish after third-place efforts in the Giustina Memorial Classic and Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Corvallis and Seattle, respectively. The Ducks added another sixth-place finish in the Heather Fall Memorial in Denver, and a 16th-place finish in the all-star Stanford Intercollegiate tourney.
On the individual front, the Ducks enjoyed an victory in the season opener, the Giustina Memorial Classic, courtesy of sophomore Felicia Eastick (74-69-74-217), and three more top-10 finishes courtesy of Bristow this week and also in the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational (eighth-tie, 77-73-71-221) and Little (fourth-tie, 76-69-75-220) in the same latter event.
In individual round action the past two months, Little carded the team's low of the year ? a 69 second round in the par 72 Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Seattle. The team's low round was a 290 second round on the par 72 Sahalee Golf Course in the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Seattle, and additional sub-300 rounds in the Giustina Memorial Classic (299) and Heather Fall Memorial (295, 298).
The Ducks return to action in the spring for the Lady Gator Invitational, Feb. 22-24, at the University of Florida Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla.
