BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Brooke Dieringer had four goals for the second straight day, but it was Sarah McDonald's goal with 4:29 remaining that sealed the victory over the Lehigh Moutain Hawks, 11-10, Saturday afternon.
In a back and forth second half, Oregon took the lead with 5:56 remaining as Lindsay Killian gave the Ducks the lead 10-9 and MacDonald's goal gave the Ducks a two-goal lead that would be necessary thanks to Lissy King's goal with :30 seconds remaining that brought Lehigh to within a single goal.
MacDonald, the sophomore midfielder, bookended the victory for the Ducks, scoring the first of her two goals four minutes into the game and the second with four minutes to play. The goals were her first pair of the season.
Dieringer tallied two goals in each half as the Ducks fought off an early second half run by Lehigh and Inneke Carmola, who scored four of the first five goals to open the second half, broken up only by a Dieringer goal at the 14:45 mark.
The Ducks opened the game with a four goal run in the first five minutes of the game and were good on defense as Lehigh did not get on the board until almost halfway through the first half. Oregon led at the half, 5-2.
Theresa Waldron had a great all around game, adding three goals for the Ducks with two assists and also leading the team with four draw controls.
Dieringer and Waldron tied for the team lead, each with five points.
Oregon outshot the Mountain Hawks 19-13 in the second half after the teams both had 14 shots at the half. Oregon was also dominant on the draw, controlling 16 of 23 draws in the game, including ten in the second half.
Freshman goalkeeper Sam Debow played the entire game for the Ducks and made ten saves.
The Ducks next head into conference action beginning April 14, when they take on California at 11 a.m.
