EUGENE -- The No. 31 Ducks gained some momentum for their final push toward the Pac-10 Tournament with a 4-3 defeat of the University of San Diego Toreros Saturday afternoon.
After dropping the doubles point, Oregon (11-7) rebounded to win four singles matches to take the non-conference dual match.
At the top position, senior Dominika Dieskova rebounded from a first set loss to Monica Wiessner to take the match in three sets, 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.
Sophomore Carmen Seremeta was also taken to three sets before picking up the 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 victory over Helene Lindstrand at the No. 3 position.
Senior Monica Hoz de Vila and Anna Powaska both dealt their opponents defeat in a dominating fashion, Hoz de Vila getting the 6-1, 6-3 win over Alexandra Demidova while Powaska handed Zoe Taylor a 6-1, 6-4 defeat.
Dieskova and Olivos were the only Oregon pair to win in doubles as they posted a 8-3 win over Monica Wiesener and Sophia Vogt.
The Ducks were without the injured Claudia Hirt for the second straight match.
The Ducks head to the desert next week and will take on the Arizona Wildcats at noon on Friday.
