WAIKOLOA, Hawaii ? Oregon's three freshmen all stood tied for 22nd at 1-under 139 to help the Ducks to ninth place following Thursday's second round of the UH-Hilo Intercollegiate, being played at the par-72, 6,971-yard Waikoloa Village Golf Course.
Isaiah Telles led the group with a 68 on Thursday, while Jack Dukeminier carded a 69 and native Hawaiian Sean Maekawa had a 72. The Ducks also counted a 67 from senior Joey Benedetti, who was tied for 51st overall at 2-over 142.
As a team, the Ducks shot a 4-under 276 Thursday, but fell a spot in the standings after being eighth following the opening round.
No. 10 Stanford shot a 17-under 263 in the second round to take a five stroke lead at 538. Arizona State was second at 543, followed by a tightly packed field that included No. 8 USC third at 544, No. 16 Texas Tech fourth at 546 and No. 4 Georgia Tech fifth at 547.
Washington led the next five at 500, followed by Oregon State (551), Oklahoma (553), Oregon (555) and Colorado (558).
Jamie Lovemark of USC fired a 65 to share the individual lead with Arizona State's Jesper Kennegard at 9-under 131. They were a stoke ahead of four golfers at 132.
The UH-Hilo concludes with a final round on Friday.
