Hildahl & Little Pace UO in Pac-10 Finale

LOS ANGELES ? University of Oregon sophomore Kate Hildahl and freshman Kendra Little ended with top-20 finishes overall Wednesday to help the No. 46 women's golf team finish seventh in the third and final day of the Pacific-10 Conference Championships.
Hildahl carded a final round 81 Wednesday to finish in a tie for 16th place overall (75-70-81-226) on the par-71, 6,060-yard Palos Verdes Golf Course. The Tualatin, Ore., native Hildahl ended one stroke ahead of freshman teammate Kendra Little (20th-tie, 71-76-80-227).
Sophomore Felicia Eastick carded her lowest round of the tourney Wednesday (77) to finish 35th (77-81-77-235), and UO's final counted score came from junior Blair Ressler (47th-t, 84-84-78-246). UO's other entrant, junior Cathryn Bristow, was one of four Ducks that placed top 40 overall (38th-tie, 75-75-87-237).
Hildahl led UO in the overall final standings for the second time this spring after she placed 27th in the Lady Gator Invitational in early February. She also paced UO in the Pac-10 tourney's first and second rounds ? the fourth and fifth time she's held the honor this season. Eastick's low round for the team Wednesday was the eighth of the season for the Queensland, Australia native.
Later Wednesday, Little and Bristow were tabbed to the All-Pac-10 Second Team - the fifth and sixth Ducks to be honored to one of the top two all-league teams since 1993.
In the final tourney team results, UO's seventh-place finish (298-302-316-916) was its best since it placed seventh in 2000.
Overall in the team standings Wednesday, No. 3 USC added 17 strokes in the final round to win by 26 strokes (285-292-283-860) over No. 2 UCLA (second, 284-302-300-886). No. 4 Arizona State followed in third place (296-294-301-891).
Other teams in the talented 10-team field included No. 12 Arizona (fourth-tie, 301-299-308-908), No. 17 California (fourth-tie, 301-305-302-908), No. 23 Stanford (sixth, 302-308-303-913), No. 46 Oregon (298-302-316-916), No. 58 Washington State (313-309-310), No. 48 Washington (ninth, 310-308-318-936) and No. 57 Oregon State (10th, 317-315-310-942).
In individual action, USC's Paola Moreno Belen Mozo carded a tourney low 4-under 67 Wednesday to climb five spots on the leaderboard and win by four strokes (70-75-67-212). Arizona State Anna Nordqvist improved two positions to take runner-up honors (74-70-72-216) over first-day leaders Belen Mozo of USC (third-tie, 69-73-75-217) and Tiffany Joh of UCLA (third-tie, 69-73-75-217) who tied with USC's Dewi Claire Schreefel (third-tie, 74-74-69-217).

Looking ahead, NCAA Regional selections will be announced next Monday, April 28, and the three 54-hole, events will be hosted by Sacramento State, Georgia and Texas on Thursday-Saturday, May 8-10. Each regional will be composted of 21 teams and three additional individuals, and the low eight team finishers and low two individuals not on those teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA Championships.
