Oregon vs. Arizona, May 23, 2009
Head Coach George Horton
“We didn't play well today, our offensive approach was better but we fell short. We didn't play well when we had runners on base, we didn't pitch well when we put runners on base, and when we had runners on we didn't get them in.”
“We are still playing with our emotions and because of it, we are trying to force it instead of letting it come to us.”
On the at bats:
“I think our approach was spot on. We hit balls hard, but sometimes they were just right at people. We need to get our short game going, its been non-existent so far this weekend.”
On the hitting:
“We had a better approach today. We hit balls hard and we just have to keep grinding it out. We have to have short memories forget it quick and move on.”
“Confidence was a big factor in the at-bats today. We tried some new things today and they worked. I think people are finally starting to buy into the system.”
“This was going to be a tough season, we had to learn a new system but it's a stepping stone. Everyone coming back will know the system and the process will be much easier next year.”
“Tomorrow we are going to come out and give it all we have.”
