Four Ducks Stand in Top 20 at Giustina Memorial

CORVALLIS, Ore. -- The Oregon men's golf team had four golfers in the top 20 and stood in third place following Monday's first two rounds of the Giustina Memorial Classic, being played at the par-72, 6,282-yard Trysting Tree Golf Course.
Sophomore John Paton, making his varsity debut for Oregon, was tied for sixth at 5-under 139 after rounds of 69-70. Sophomore Eugene Wong shot 70-71 and was eighth at 3-under 141. Junior Isaiah Telles was tied for 15th at 144 following rounds of 70-74 and sophomore Andrew Vijarro was tied for 19th at 145.
Washington State had the overnight lead at 15-under 561. Oregon State was next at 565, followed by Oregon at 569, Nevada at 572 and Cal Poly at 586.
The Cougars' Trent Sanders shot rounds of 68-68 and was the individual leader at 8-under 136. Jared Becher of Nevada was second at 7-under 137.
