
Ducks Move Into Third in Barnard Invite Finale

STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 38 University of Oregon women's golf team capped its spring opener Sunday with three scores of 76 or better to improve a position and finish in third place in the Peg Barnard Invitational second and final round.
Oregon shot a 18-over 302 on the par-71, 6,092-yard Stanford Golf Course and ended with an overall score of 607 (305-302), and trailed No. 24 Stanford (first, 304-292-596) and No. 10 California (second, 296-301-597).
The Ducks finished two strokes ahead of No. 35 Washington (fourth, 304-305-609), who was followed by No. 22 UC Davis (fifth, 310-305-615), No. 36 San Jose State (sixth, 315-307-622), No. 32 Texas (seventh, 312-315-627), Long Beach State (eighth, 318-315-633), Hawai'i (ninth, 313-321-634), Santa Clara (10th, 324-320-644) and Fresno State ( 11th, 324-321-645).
Individually, sophomore Ashley Edwards led the Ducks in the final standings (fifth-tie, 76-74-150), and tied her career high overall placing from last year's Oregon Duck Invitational. The Oakley, Calif., native was followed by two more top-10 overall finishers – junior Kendra Little (seventh-tie, 75-76-151) and senior Felicia Eastick (10th-t, 79-73-152) - and the latter posted UO's low round of the day.
Freshman Cheyenne Hickle followed in a tie for 32nd place (75-83-158), and senior Kate Hildahl (44th, 83-79-162) carded UO's other counted score Sunday.
Among other statistical notes, Edwards led UO in a tourney final standings for the first time in her ninth career tourney, and Eastick, led UO for the first time this season and 15th time in her 81 career rounds.
Overall in the individual standings, California's Joanna Lee improved four places and moved into a tie for the win (74-70-144) with Stanford's Sally Watson (73-71-144).
Stanford's Rebecca Durham followed in third place (77-70-147), two strokes ahead of Anya Alvarez of Washington (fourth, 72-77-149).
