Head Coach George Horton
On game:
“We had good pitching and defense. We had a couple shots, unfortunately we did not put the quality of bats together.”
On today's effort:
“I liked the way we went after it. We thought we gave into them at their place last year. Today we wanted to play us, to play together and to play UO baseball, one pitch at a time. If my team is guilty of anything it is being too aggressive in the batter's box. Last year we would have waited around. Sometimes when you are too aggressive it backfires on you.”
On weekend's games:
“We will take care of one game at a time. Tomorrow we have a shot at giving them their first loss, and we will take care of Saturday on Saturday.”
On standing in the PAC- 10 conference:
“Our culture is heading in the right direction. We have a little swagger to us. Our team has grown leaps and bounds and I like the way we went about our business today.”
#6 KC Serna
On first game of series:
“I was a little frustrated, but it was close. We played hard.”
On how it felt to play the #1 team in the nation:
“We were pumped. Tyler (Anderson) had a good game. To hold them to 1-0 is a good baseball game. We can compete and we battled.”
On team this year:
“I am still smiling! We have more chemistry. We are shoulder to shoulder and ready to go.”
